What Does A Loss Assessor Do?

Why You Need A Loss Assessor When Making A Claim in Ireland!

A loss assessor will aim to represent you, the policyholder and not the insurance company. They aim to assess the damage caused to you and determine a fair settlement with your insurance company. Do not lose out on a fair settlement when you need it most. Irish assessors are typically well trained in understanding the market costs and dealing directly with local companies.

What Is A Loss Assessor?

Loss assessors are professionals who help individuals and businesses make successful insurance claims after suffering a significant loss. They act as an independent third party that assesses damages and provides individuals with legal guidance or advice on how to make a successful claim. Loss assessors such as PDLA are experts in property damage and ensure that claimants receive full compensations that they are entitled to quickly with minimal stress to the homeowner.

Are assessors different then Loss adjusters?

Loss Adjusters are specialised claims professionals who provide valuable assistance to the insurer. A loss adjuster is appointed when an insurance company is faced with a complex claim, to investigate the claim made. Claims assessment can be difficult to determine  and  the Loss Adjuster will be working on behalf of the insurance company and not the client.

A good assessor will aim to get you the best settlement possible through negotiating and settling your insurance claim for you. To be protected from risks such as theft, fire damage, water damage from flooding, etc, you take out insurance and your insurance company is expected to comply but unfortunately this is not the case. When insurers are made aware that you have a Loss Assessor, it works in your favour as it becomes difficult for them to limit or refuse your claim, because loss assessors will do everything to ensure your claim is processed fairly and that you are compensated.
